Thursday May 28, 2009

Georgia had her last day of pre-school for the year today. I was a homeroom mom this year. Her teachers gave me these adorable flowers to say thank you. I cried. I blame it on the hormones.

Wednesday May 27, 2009

We went out to lunch today with a few Georgia's classmates. This is one of her favorite friends to play with. And I just love the pose!

Tuesday May 26, 2009

Love, love, LOVE this show! It just started a few days ago, and I watched it on DVR tonight. It is in the audition phase, a la American Idol. But I did get some really good laughs out of it!

Monday May 25, 2009

I drove back to our house tonight, on my own with the kids. Surprisingly, I had no traffic, which is pretty much unheard of for this area at the end of a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. I was stopped when I took this picture right as the light turned green to get on the Vine Street Expressway. It was a green light all the way home to bedtime.

Sunday, May 24, 2009

We had a BBQ at my parents' house today and my brothers and sisters came over. This is Georgia, Noah and my niece Mallory. She is turning into such a little person right now, learning how to talk and run around like the older kids. It is such a fun stage. And they all played together for a while, which was really cute to see.

Saturday May 23, 2009

We went to the circus today with Georgia and Noah. It was a treat just for "big kids," and Sam stayed home with my parents'. It was a great show, and we had great seats. We were literally under the tight rope. Quite a few times we thought we might end up with an injured circus performer in our laps.

Friday May 22, 2009

Sam got to meet his Great-Grandmom Kay (G.G.) today for the first time. I am not sure how much time he will get to spend with her, as she has been diagnosed with a very serious cancer. It was a beautiful moment to see her enjoying her newest great-grandchild. She held him, stared at him, and rocked him to sleep as she sang him some old standards from the 40's and 50's. I had a hard time holding it together.

Thursday May 21, 2009

Noah had his last day of "school" today. They had "popsicles in the park" to celebrate it. He and his buddy Rachael were up to no good together, screeching and giggling at each other. I couldn't resist this shot of their tushes lined up together.

Wednesday May 20, 2009

We are finishing a walk-in attic in our house so that Alex can have an office to work in when he is at home. It is nearly done. We just need to have some remaining electrical work, and get some carpet installed. It is looking good!

Tuesday May 19, 2009

Georgia, conked out at the end of the day. I wish I could sleep like this.....peaceful and oblivious to all noise. It may be a pain getting her there, but once she is out for the night she is really out.

Monday May 18, 2009

Alex's empty side of the bed. It gets lonely during the week when he is gone.

Sunday May 17, 2009

Noah took this picture while we were all hanging out in our bedroom on Sunday morning having coffee and milk. He does a really good job with the camera for being 2 1/2 years old.

Saturday May 16, 2009

We watched our friends' kids today for a while. They get along very well with ours, and are pretty funny together. They were all pretending to be cats at this point, and were climbing all over. It was quite entertaining. And, of course, the dog had to make sure everyone was doing okay.

Friday May 15, 2009

We had Samuel's bris today. He was welcomed into the Jewish community, and will be officially converted in about 9 months (since I am not Jewish, the kids all need to be converted to Judaism.) We had our families and a few friends over to celebrate our newest son. He Hebrew name is Shalom, which means peace......may he bring this to our family for many years to come.

Thursday May 14, 2009

The kids LOVE this game called Hullabaloo. Noah would play it all day long if he could, and sometimes it seems that he does. It is a great game for getting out the energy on a rainy day. Anyway, they were playing while I made breakfast, and decided to both wear headbands for some reason. It was pretty funny. This is actually Noah's "cheese and crackers" face, but he looks like he is saying, "don't mess with me, lady!"

Wednesday May 13, 2009

Every morning the kids cuddle in our bed under a blanket and watch a show while I shower and get ready. We all have our morning drinks in bed (coffee, chocolate milk, and "yogurt shake") before heading downstairs to start the craziness of getting out the door. It is a little bit of calm before the storm everyday.

Tuesday May 12, 2009

Is there anything cuter? Sam still sleeps with his feet and legs pulled up into the fetal position. They are always either crossed at the ankles, or pulled together like this. This was right before he went to sleep at night. Such delicious little feet.

Monday May 11, 2009

Sam getting in a big stretch this afternoon.

Sunday May 10, 2009

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY! What a glorious day it was! I was beginning to think we would never have spring this year, and then, out came this sky. It was beautiful.

Saturday May 9, 2009

We had dinner at our friends' house tonight. Our kids are great friends, especially Georgia and Courtney. These were their dinner outfits. They were too cute!

Friday May 8, 2009

It was such a beautiful day....the kids got to have a picnic lunch on the deck and then BUBBLES!!! It still amazes me how enthralling bubbles are to a 4 year old and 2 year old. The simple things in life.....

Thursday May 7, 2009

We had Georgia's Mothers' Day Tea at school today. I was happy I got to go, because I was originally supposed to be in the hospital for it. The kids had an adorable performance, and then we got to eat muffins and brownies that they made in class the day before. It was a very cute morning.

Wednesday May 6, 2009

We received these gorgeous flowers yesterday from my in-laws. They are just too pretty not to post a picture of, and the roses smell amazing. Can't wait 'till everything is blooming outside.

Tuesday May 5, 2009

Georgia made these lovely (and tasty!) peanut butter cookies today. She loves to cook and bake, and loves to eat her creations even more.

Monday May 4, 2009

There are no words for this one...just another original creation by Georgia!

I have a Pandora charm bracelet that I received for my birthday last year. I LOVE it. It is fun to pick out new charms to remind me of special people and moments in my life. Today Alex gave me a pacifier charm to signify Sam's birth. It is adorable, and my bracelet is filling up fast.

Saturday, May 2, 2009

Sam came home today. I love this little outfit, and he is almost too big for it! The kids come back from my parents' tomorrow, so we are planning on enjoying a (relatively) peaceful night on our own.

Friday May 1, 2009

Cuddling with daddy before he left the hospital. There are many, many more of these nights to come.

Thursday April 30, 2009

The kids met Sam for the first time today. Georgia was such the big sister, just wanting to hold him the whole time. Noah was interested, and gave him lots of kisses. But he was more interested in his french fries!

Wednesday April 29, 2009

Welcome baby Samuel James Scherer. Such a wonderful and emotional day.....and FYI, my heartburn has disappeared completely.
